Developing an Agile Planning and Tracking Scorecard

Agile changes the nature of planning and tracking. In Agile, the available development capacity in resources and schedule is assessed and considered fixed at the outset. That assessment guides the scope of features promised for a delivery cycle.

It’s monday morning and where’s the mostly glorious weekend weather gone? Love this pic. Reminds me of walking in Umbria on honeymoon, many moons ago.

Ah bliss. The sun’s out. The garden’s politely asking for some love and care.

gapingvoid: “cartoons drawn on the back of business cards”: the social marker- the “social object” on steroids

Hugh Macleod: “Every ecosystem has its own, unique set of social markers- nouns that serve as social shorthand, stuff you use to let other people know ASAP that you know what you’re talking about, that you are a fellow “citizen” in a certain space”

Snow and blossom

Snow and blossom

Originally uploaded by jamesbyford.

Crazy weather day in Brighton yesterday. This view into our back garden shows the spring blossom at the fore with the winter snow behind it.

Thankfully it’s sunny and spring is again to the fore today.

Also finally got round to playing with Channel 4’s Picture This

It’s an interesting use of Flickr’s API to allow Flickr users to contribute to a wide range of weekly projects with themes such as contrast, which I’ve submitted the pic of Snow and blossom. Other projects include decay, Abstract World, Self-Portrait etc. There’s a fair amount of submissions, into the hundreds for each project, some of which will feature in the TV show at some point.

Thanks to Adam Gee who’s behind the project, for pointing me at this.

A tribute to Dudley Moore

In Uncategorized on April 2, 2008 at 8:06 pm

Dudley Moore and Peter Cook have been heroes of mine since I was about 13. I can remember staying with my good friend and cousin Alex in school holidays and listening to Derek and Clive – on vinyl, the album with sick all over the sleeve. At the time I thought it was the most hilarious thing I’d ever heard. It turned out that my dad, Phil, was also a fan and I can remember laughing until it hurt at his flat in Brighton.

Back to Dudley Moore. I loved Mr Spiggott and also recall having a scream with Kev Eagles (where are you?) acting out the famous sketch “One leg too few”:

Last week, Phil lent me a copy of the Hound of the Baskervilles and I can’t wait to watch it. I discovered earlier, by chance, that Dudley Moore died six years ago today.
